1. About this Policy
This Refund Policy explains how free trials, subscription charges, cancellations, billing problems and refund requests are handled for Thought Architecture. It should be read with our Terms of Service.
Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
2. Seven-day free trial
Eligible new subscribers receive one seven-day free trial on the monthly or annual plan selected at checkout. A valid payment method is collected when the trial begins.
Except where you confirm a plan change that causes an immediate charge, no subscription fee is charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to the selected paid plan at AUD $19.50 per month or AUD $149 per year.
The free trial is offered once per eligible account. If you have already used a trial, restarting a subscription begins as a paid subscription without another free trial.
3. Changing plans during a trial
Changing between annual and monthly billing during a free trial may end the trial immediately and result in an immediate charge for the new plan.
Stripe displays the effective date and any amount payable or credited before you confirm the change. Review that confirmation carefully. If you do not want the trial to end early, do not confirm the plan change and contact us for assistance.
An immediate charge that you knowingly confirmed through Stripe is not ordinarily refundable merely because the trial ended earlier than expected. This does not affect any remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law or where the charge was incorrect, duplicated or not properly authorised.
4. Subscription charges and renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically each month or year according to the selected plan until cancelled. Stripe processes payments using the payment method connected to your billing account.
We do not ordinarily provide a refund solely because:
- you did not use all or part of a paid monthly or annual period;
- you retained access during the paid period;
- you forgot to cancel before a renewal date; or
- you changed your mind after a correctly processed subscription or renewal charge.
These general positions do not override your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel through the Stripe customer portal available from Settings.
Cancelling during a free trial ordinarily prevents the first subscription charge, and access continues until the scheduled end of the trial unless Stripe clearly displays a different effective date before you confirm.
Cancelling a paid monthly or annual subscription ordinarily stops the next renewal. Access continues until the end of the current paid period.
Annual subscriptions are paid in advance for a twelve-month period. Cancelling part-way through a paid year stops the next annual renewal but does not ordinarily create a partial refund for the remaining part of the current year.
6. Failed and recovered payments
If a payment fails, Stripe may retry it during its configured recovery process. You may retain access while the subscription is marked past due. Updating your payment method may allow an outstanding invoice to be paid.
If recovery attempts are exhausted, the subscription is cancelled and access to coaching ends.
Paying an invoice after its connected subscription has already been cancelled settles the invoice but does not reactivate the cancelled subscription. You must start a new paid subscription to regain access.
7. Incorrect, duplicate or unauthorised charges
Contact us promptly if you believe a charge:
- was processed more than once;
- was for the wrong amount or plan;
- occurred after a cancellation should have taken effect;
- was not authorised by you; or
- does not match the confirmation Stripe displayed.
We will investigate the account and Stripe records and correct an error where one occurred. For a suspected unauthorised card transaction, you should also contact your financial institution promptly.
8. Technical failures and consumer guarantees
If a technical fault on our side materially prevented you from using the Service, contact us promptly with enough information to investigate. Depending on the circumstances, we may provide troubleshooting assistance, restore access, provide a credit or refund, or offer another appropriate remedy.
Under the Australian Consumer Law, services come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. If the Service fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy depending on whether the failure is major and whether it can be remedied. Nothing in this Policy limits those rights.
9. How to request help or a refund
Email hello@tkpublications.com.au and include:
- the email address connected to your Thought Architecture account;
- the date and amount of the charge;
- whether the subscription was monthly or annual; and
- a short explanation of the issue and the outcome you are requesting.
Do not send card numbers, security codes, passwords or other payment credentials by email.
We aim to acknowledge billing and refund enquiries within two business days. We will assess the request as soon as reasonably practicable and keep you informed if we need further information from you or Stripe.
